So, in just under a month, we'll have had the keys to our very own little slice of #YnysMôn for two whole years... considering it took us well over a decade to get here, it still feels like a dream! It certainly is a dream come deservedly true.
Over the past two years we've been focused on #renovation and #decoration and found all the trials and tribulations of renovating a period property on a budget. We've also discovered new skills and new not so skills... safe to say I'm not a plasterer! Ric is of course... pretty sure there's nothing that man can't do! Oh... and carpet laying definitely tested our patience.
We know we should really post as we go, we've opened up little aspects of our lives for people to see via our #blogs and socials (as is the way of the world now, any business seems to need some degree of digital footprint to thrive) but we've also wanted to take the time to soak up making this little farm our own. As the anniversary of getting the keys draws near, we decided now would be a good time to start detailing more of our #property hunt and renovations. As I say, it was a massive learning curve and we continue to learn so much (the house and land are certainly not finished... I'm pretty sure we'll always find a new project), we're not professionals by any means but had a strict budget to follow so you never know you might find something in the renovation series inspiring or helpful.
We both genuinely believe that living in some sort of harmony with the land is so important for mental health and wellbeing so there's quite a few rooms that highlight that, especially our office where we spend quite a bit of time! There are musical instruments everywhere and we've tried to make it bright and airy but feel like it's giving you a hug at the same time. Equally it's practical, covered in horse and dog hair (a lot of dog hair) and home to our business. The house certainly has it's quirks but then again so do we! We're battling a few damp spots, old stone walls and previous bodged jobs (as well as a crazy amount of sockets in the kitchen... we get that you have appliances but nearly 30 sockets seems excessive!).
Anyway, we hope you enjoy the little insights into our renovation journey as we post here and on our social media over the next few months as well as the tales about our #farm hunt... we laugh about it now, but it certainly was an experience, one we're looking forward to sharing with you.
